Innovations in Civic Participation
(ICP) is a
registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that
supports the development of
innovative, high-quality youth civic engagement
policies and programs both in
the US
and around the world. Founded in 2001
through a multi-year grant from the Ford
Foundation, ICP grew out of Susan Strouds
thirty years of experience in
designing programs and policies and building
networks that affect youth civic
engagement on a large scale.
ICP is
a leader in the global movement to
promote
sustainable development and
social change through youth civic
engagement. We
embrace a positive view of young people
that recognizes their potential to
create positive and lasting social
change in their
communities through active
engagement and
service.
What Makes ICP
Unique?
ICP has
global, multi-faceted experience working with
governments, institutions of higher education,
as well as philanthropic and non-profit
organizations.
ICP
is the only organization dedicated to
incubating a
range of approaches to scaling up youth civic
engagement, with a focus on national
youth service and
service-learning.
ICP
works with a broad range of partners to pilot
and
spin-off self-sustaining programs, and build
coalitions and networks to affect
public policy in order to create government
investment in national
service.
